Abstract

The carefulness of the environmental and soil conditions is also extremely important to the Pomegranate crop production because any changes in moisture, temperature, and humidity can influence the crop production and the quality of fruits quite a lot. Over the past few years, the farmers have had the problem of climate changes becoming very difficult because of the randomness of rainfall and poor utilization of the water resources. Conventional farming methods depend mostly on manual observation and field visits at intervals which are not usually adequate in real-time recording of soil and atmosphere parameters. These constraints lead to a delay in making decisions, excessive irrigation, inadequate irrigation and enhanced exposure to stress caused by weather. The advent of the Internet of Things (IoT) has created new opportunities in the field of smart and precision agriculture by providing the opportunity to monitor, collect data in real-time, and analyze the agricultural parameters automatically. The research paper is a description of an IoT-based solution that is specifically developed to track vital soil and weather conditions that are connected to pomegranate farming. The proposed system combines soil moisture sensors, soil temperature sensors, ambient temperature sensors and humidity sensors with a platform made up of a microcontroller and wireless communication modules. The field collected data is sent to a cloud-based server, where it is stored, analyzed, and visualized with the help of a user-friendly interface. The goal of the system is to assist farmers make informed decisions on the timing of irrigation, managing crop stress, and addressing the adverse weather conditions. The proposed solution will help to minimize water waste, lessen manual labor, and increase crop productivity by giving reliable and up-to-date information to farmers and users. In the present study, the authors have shown that IoT-enabled monitoring can be used to achieve sustainable agriculture in the optimization of the use of resources as well as in enhancing the general effectiveness of the pomegranate farming techniques. The results indicate the opportunities of smart agricultural technologies to solve contemporary agricultural issues and advance data-driven farming tools.
