Abstract

This paper introduces a cutting-edge approach to parking management, combining RFID technology, infrared (IR) transceivers, and IoT connectivity. The system is designed to streamline parking space allocation and tracking, specifically focusing on optimizing parking for students and faculty in educational institutions. IoT-Based Smart Parking System revolutionizes parking by providing real-time information to drivers, reducing congestion, fuel consumption, and pollution.  As the number of students and vehicles in SRM Institute continues growing, parking space is becoming scarcer. An IoT-based smart parking system is needed to efficiently manage and optimize the use of available parking spaces. Inefficient parking systems lead to traffic congestion, as students, staff and faculty spend valuable time searching for parking spots. A smart parking system can help reduce congestion by directing drivers to available parking spaces quickly. Decreasing the time spent searching for parking can reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to a cleaner environment. A smart parking system can provide users with real-time information about parking availability, helping them save time and reduce frustration.
