Advanced Control Strategies of PMSM for Battery Electric Vehicle Application: A Review
Main Article Content
Abstract
Due to the environmental concerns, limited availability of petroleum product and rapid rise in its cost leads the word’s in 21st century to accelerate the usage of Battery Electric Vehicle as a mean for transportation. This paper proposes a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) as a traction purpose in electric vehicle application. PMSM is a viable solution for BEV due to high efficiency, compact size, high power density, noise free operation and reliable. Acceleration, deceleration and braking is a major concern in BEV application demands a better dynamic performance over a wide range of PMSM. In this paper a review on the high-performance advanced control techniques like Field Oriented Control (FOC), Direct Torque Control (DTC) and Model Predictive Control (MPC) are included and compared.
