Exploring the Impact of ChatGPT on Research: Risks and Remediation Strategies

Abstract
ChatGPT is an advanced chatbot founded by a company named as OpenAI is based on OpenAI's Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT 3.5) series of Language Learning Models (LLM) architecture that is trained on a massive amount of text data from the internet. A neural network is a large network of computers that can fine tune its output based on feedback given to it during stages of training. By using ChatGPT, information can be generated and processed very fastly and increase efficiency for both instructors and students. It can be used as virtual tutor for students for example to answer questions, in preparing their assignments and can assist teachers like in material preparation, evaluation and in teaching complex topics. But while the use of ChatGPT is in demand, it also has some shortcomings and the biggest problem is that when the u ChatGPT is used in research, it is not possible to detect plagiarism with the help of plagiarism detecting software. In this paper we will discuss the problem of plagiarism and find out it's possible solutions.
