Implementation of an Intelligent Energy Management System for Optimized Microgrid Performance
Main Article Content
Abstract
Energy management in microgrids has become indispensable for the optimal functioning and efficient operation of the microgrid system. The primary objective of this project is to develop a novel energy management architecture model, taking in to account the various constraints on the operating loads and the supply to these loads. The application of this operational model will be restricted to domestic loads. The connected loads are categorised, load scheduling is performed, and the mode of supply is decided. Load scheduling is achieved by linear programming in MATLAB and mode of supply for the loads is decided by implementing ladder logic in MATLAB Simulink. The hardware has been implemented by using a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), which switches between the various sources powering the Smart grid.
