Abstract

The article delves into the intricacies of rail transport, addressing the repercussions of adverse events such as delays, incidents, and accidents within the railway system. It explores the impact of disruptions on the day-to-day responsibilities of railway employees, with a primary focus on Station managers. The study employs two distinct approaches: first, an experimental analysis involving traffic management personnel, where factors contributing to failures are examined through a questionnaire survey. Second, a comprehensive perspective is taken by leveraging expert knowledge, combined with Fault Tree Analysis and Event Tree Analysis methodologies. This combination is used to illustrate how alterations in the system, including erroneous decisions, can lead to subsequent undesirable events.
