Main Article Content
Abstract
The study "ICT Use Among Special Education Teachers in Teaching Hearing-Impaired Students: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR)" explores the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the education of hearing-impaired students by special education teachers. This review synthesizes research from the past decade, focusing on teacher attitudes, skills, and barriers in ICT implementation. Using PRISMA guidelines, 20 articles from Google Scholar and ERIC were analysed. Findings reveal that teachers generally have positive attitudes towards ICT, recognizing the benefits of visual aids and interactive content in enhancing lesson accessibility. However, significant barriers such as limited resources, insufficient training, and a lack of tailored content for hearing-impaired students were identified. The study emphasizes the need for ongoing professional development and increased investment in ICT infrastructure and specialized educational materials. Future research should focus on longitudinal studies to assess the long-term impact of ICT and explore innovative technologies to support hearing-impaired students. This review provides valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and researchers aiming to leverage ICT in special education, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges in its effective implementation.
