Abstract

Blockchain technology has emerged as a transformative force in cybersecurity, offering decentralized, transparent, and immutable mechanisms for securing critical data and transactions across diverse application domains. Through a systematic literature review, the present study explored the utilization of blockchain technology in enhancing cybersecurity solutions across various sectors, including defense, healthcare, industries, smart cities, energy systems, and communication networks. Descriptive analysis and thematic synthesis of the relevant literature identified the key applications of blockchain in cybersecurity, highlighting emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges in blockchain integration into cybersecurity frameworks. Insights and recommendations for future research and practical implementation are provided, aiming to contribute to a deeper understanding of the potential of blockchain technology in enhancing both the traditional and future cybersecurity ecosystems.
