Self-Employment Strategies for Families under the Coverage of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs (Case Study: Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs (Shahid Foundation) of Tehran)

Abstract

Self-employment, in addition to reducing social costs, also increases the national income. The aim of this research is to "determine the strategies of the Martyrs Foundation for the self-employment of its covered families." Accordingly, a qualitative-quantitative research was conducted. In the qualitative part of the research, interviews were conducted with experts and managers of the employment section of the Martyrs Foundation and business owners supported by the Martyrs Foundation Organization, and theoretical saturation was achieved in the fourteenth interview. Then, modeling was done using the grounded theory method. In the quantitative part of the research, a number of self-employed individuals covered by the Martyrs Foundation were surveyed. The proposed model is presented in seven dimensions, fifteen components, and seventy indicators. The validity of the model was assessed and confirmed by participants, and its reliability was measured by the agreement coefficient. In total, this research concluded that the managers of the Martyrs Foundation, by motivating applicants and persuading influential government and private organizations such as the government and industrial parks, and by providing material and moral support to applicants and removing obstacles such as the applicants' weak training, can provide the best services to applicants for self-employment so that its individual and social benefits can be achieved.
