Abstract

Green transformational leadership is becoming an essential way for organizations to gain a competitive advantage. However, whether the goals of such practices can be achieved depends on how employees behave. Therefore, stimulating pro-environmental behaviors among employees through management activities is vital in the new energy automotive sector. In this study, based on Social Cognitive Theory, we examined the impact of green transformational leadership on employees' pro-environmental behaviors. A survey method was used to obtain data from employees working in new energy automotive companies in China, and a cross-sectional survey was conducted among 504 employees in China, which was analyzed through descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, EFA, CFA and path analysis. The results of the study show that green transformational leadership has a significant impact on employees' pro-environmental behaviors. The study's conclusions will offer a theoretical foundation and policy recommendations for decision-makers and managers in the new energy automotive sector.
