Phased Array Antenna Beam Steering - Role of Digital Phase Shifters

Abstract

High gain with more directivity is vital feature of antenna system. This is possible by orienting the antenna to the desired direction of propagation. This leads to physical or mechanical moment of antenna orientation. This system suffers with accuracy of orientation and it requires physical attention and it requires physical presence of a person. So, this article is a solution of the above said problems with electronic beam steering of Antenna arrays. Here, digital phase shifters are designed for attaining and provide the required phase shift among array elements. A MATLAB code is developed with 2bit, 3bit, 4bit up to n bit digital phase shifter which up to overcome the quantization error.
