Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of managers' critical thinking on firms' innovation performance using a theoretical framework of organizational behavior and to understand the mediation roles of intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. Using structural equation modelling (SEM), we analyzed data from 587 middle and senior managers across diverse industries via stratified random sampling.; furthermore, motivations mediate their relationship. This research contributes to organizational behavior by highlighting the pivotal role of critical thinking in enhancing innovation within firms. Hence, we encourage fostering environments that enhance both types of motivation, lead to superior innovation outcomes, and offer significant implications for managerial practices and strategic decision-making in business environments.
